Clara Direz, between technique and accuracy.

Clara Direz is a skier specializing in technical events (slalom and giant slalom), she is Youth Olympic champion in giant slalom in 2012 in Innsbruck.

She began the 2016-2017 season with a serious knee injury putting a premature end to her season.

In the 2018-2019 season, she was selected for her first world championships, in Åre, where she achieved an excellent eighth place in the giant slalom. At the end of the season, she signs her two best results in the World Cup.

Clara Direz won her first World Cup race in the final of the parallel giant slalom in Sestriere. Over a ten-year period, she is the first French woman to win the World Cup in all disciplines, apart from Tessa Worley’s repeated successes in giant slalom over the same period.

At the end of September 2020, Clara Direz suffered a pulmonary embolism that forced her to be hospitalized, which jeopardized the beginning of her season, especially the first World Cup giant. Then she put an end to her season at the beginning of January 2021, because of it.

Hoping to see her in top form on the slopes of Meribel, Clara will have in heart to shine in front of the French public.
