Matthias Mayer, king of the Olympic Games

Matthias Mayer was born with skiing in his blood: his father was an Olympic silver medallist in super-G in 1988 in Calgary (beaten by the famous Franck Piccard!)

The Olympic Games run in the family as he won the gold medal in the downhill in Sochi (2014) and the super-G in PyeongChang (2018).

As for the World Championships, he has not yet managed to add a victory to his list of wins, despite numerous podiums in the World Cup.

A specialist in speed events, he could also compete in the combined.
