Petra Vlhova is a powerful athlete with impressive technical accuracy.
Petra was born on skis: she spent all her free time on the slopes with her brother and was always the last off the slopes.
This passion quickly became her profession. Her parents detected in her a strong character and competitive spirit. She soon won her first international races, notably the gold medal in slalom at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck at the age of 16. In her first World Cup in Semmering at the age of 17, she finished in 11th place, an exceptional performance which heralded the start of a long international career.
She has been gathering momentum since 2016 and has continued to improve. She won her first two “small” Crystal Globes at the end of the 2019/2020 season, in slalom and parallel slalom.
She won the big crystal globe in 2021 and the small crystal globe in slalom during the 2021-2022 season. Finally, she won the Olympic title in slalom at the Beijing Olympics in 2022.
We can’t wait to see her race down the Roc de Fer for the 2023 World Championships in Meribel!
