Thibaut Favrot, a dynamic skier
Thibaut Favrot made his European Cup debut in January 2012 and scored his first points by finishing 24th in the giant slalom in Arber in 2013. Injured in January 2015 (wrist fracture), his season comes to a screeching halt.
He competed in his first World Cup race in October 2015 in Sölden (Austria). In 2016, he became French Elite Super Combined Champion in Les Menuires.
In December 2018, he created a sensation and achieved his first World Cup podium by taking 2nd place in the Parallel Giant Slalom in Alta Badia. Thibaut Favrot finally reaches the podium of the French Giant Slalom Championships, taking 3rd place in March 2018.
During the 2018-2019 season, he reaches the French A team. During this year, he achieves his first Top-10 in the giant slalom world cup.
During the 2020-2021 season, he is selected to compete in his first World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo but unfortunately gives up in the parallel slalom and giant slalom. However, thanks to all his good results during the season, he enters for the first time in the top-10 of the world’s best giant slalom racers: he takes the 9th place in the overall ranking of the World Cup giant slalom. In March 2021, he became Vice-Champion of France in Giant Slalom.
Although Thibaut Favrot had a more difficult start to the 2021-2022 season, he was selected for his first Olympic Games where he took an excellent 5th place in the giant slalom. In March 2022, he is crowned for the 1st time French Giant Slalom Champion and takes the title of French Parallel Slalom Champion.
We are looking forward to seeing him thrill the French public in the finish area of Courchevel & Méribel in 2023!
