Why the World Championships in Courchevel Méribel ?
“The idea comes from here, in 2015 during the world cup finals that took place here. Everyone has told us with what you are able to do with these finals, the popular success that there is, you should apply for skiing, it is the most important after the Olympic Games.”
France knows how to organize an event like this ?
“Yes, there is a real expertise. We have resorts, Courchevel Méribel, which are one of the best in the world. There are sports club that are active, and then the little French touch, it’s up to us to put it all onward. That we make a sporting, popular and media event.
We don’t do World Championships to make World Championships. There really must be a legacy. A legacy for young people, which, we hope, will be inspired by this.”
