Paris 2024 and Courchevel Méribel 2023, is there a French know-how ?

“Showing that France can also host is important. Reminding people of this background because these are not the first World Ski Championships, of course. I was at the bottom of the slopes in Val d’Isère in 2009. I had the opportunity to watch a few races.

There is a know-how that we need to preserve. And it’s a great source of international outreach and for young people who alsom perform.“

Does competing at home make a difference ?

“Personally, I experienced a World Athletics Championship in 2003, in Paris, at the Stade de France, which was a real success. Which is now well-know in the athletics world as one of the best editions because the audience was there, they came forward.

The audience depends on the team results, so this is important. But if you provide a proper environment, it always benefits the result of the team that is competing at home.“
