The Organising Committee launches his corporate social responsibility committee.
After several months of meetings and discussions with the numerous stakeholders, the Courchevel Méribel 2023 Organising Committee is proud to launch its Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) Committee.
On Thursday morning, more than 25 people joined Perrine Pelen (Director General), Bernard Front (President), and Emilie Meynet, who is in charge of Corporate Social Responsibility for the Organising Committee.
What is the CSR Committee ?
This working group was formed following discussions and consideration by Emilie Meynet in order to ensure all stakeholders are invited to participate in the Organising Committee’s CSR project. The objective is to jointly develop Courchevel Méribel 2023 World Championships’ environmentally friendly action plan.
The plan will have 5 strategic lines: raising awareness, limiting environmental impact, optimising the circular economy, organising an inclusive & accessible event, and creating value. It has 3 major objectives: reduce the environmental impact, initiate a change, and leave a material and an intangible legacy.
Who is on the committee ?
The group is made up of local stakeholders and associations that are involved in this area. Specifically, it is made up of members of the Organising Committee, the two Town Councils, the FFS, the ski areas, the Tourist Offices, the Communauté de commune, the Vanoise National Park and the Savoie Départment. Other stakeholders and associations were brought in to bring a more global and inclusive approach.
What are its missions and actions ?
The objective of this first meeting of the CSR Committee was to allow the members to get to know each other and to confirm the principal subject areas. Working groups will be set up to generate ideas and draw up an action plan which will be submitted to the committee for validation. Decisions involving a significant financial commitment will be approved by the Steering Committee, a small group composed of representatives of the three founding members of the Organising Committee, the Director General and the Financial Director.
Organising Committee's CSR policy is already in action
It should be noted that even before starting this collective project, the Organising Committee’s CSR policy is already in action since the candidacy. For example by integrating CSR criteria into all our invitations to tender, by promoting local and environmentally responsible purchasing and by raising awareness among the Organising Committee members.
