This is the most technical of the events. Slalom racers must be quick and precise. Slalom courses are the shortest, but they include the highest number of gates and the most closely spaced gates. 

As with giant slalom, this event is made up of two runs carried out on two different courses. The skier who obtains the best combined times wins the event.
